Connecting with the Floor with Alex Allan (Rope) 05/10
Blending the barrier between floor and air
05/10 12:30pm - 2:30pm
In this workshop, students will investigate new ways of interacting with their apparatus, not just in the air but also on the floor. We’ll work from the ground up, exploring movement with the rope on the floor and learning tools and techniques to develop a floor-based practice with the rope. Participants will also learn small pieces of choreography, taking them from the floor to the air and back again, seamlessly blending the boundaries between both horizontal and vertical planes.
Pre-requisites: Some experience with vertical apparatus would be helpful but not necessary for this class.
